  1. GPB recently became a part of United Streaming and while it is still has great videos, I liked it better before. Some of the videos I showed before are no longer available. I do like the lesson plans that some of the videos have. I also like the fact you can choose segments of a video instead of showing the whole thing. Another benefit, is the fact it is very user friendly.
Overall, I really love all the features GPB offers.

  2. I incorporate GPB in my weekly lessons as a technology and differentiation strategy. I have also found it to be a great way to incorporate cross curricular activities. Since I teach reading I have some flexibility with my lessons. It is much easier for me to bring in Science and Social Studies standards. Just last week our students took their Science benchmark test. Many did not do so well. So, I found some videos on the Kingdoms and Domains and showed them. I was able to remediate and the kids loved it. I heard comments like, "Oh, that's what bacteria looks like." The standards based lessons are also a plus and a time saver. I can usually find something interesting to hook my visual learners. I think that GPS is an asset in my classroom.

  3. This is a great site with SO much information that a visual learner like me gets information overload and cannot focus on one thing! I would love to have someone give me your fast track to information! I found some wonderful interactive games for young students which is exactly what an elementary school teacher was asking me to help her find. This will be a great resource for me to help her with that! Since I am not a teacher I do not have access to United Streaming, but I have had the opportunity to explore it in the past and it is fantastic! Can I assume that through GPB everything is considered public doamin and there are no worries about copyright? As the media specialist, do you send these videos through the school video distribution system?

  4. I agree that GPB is a fantastic site. I used this site when I taught third grade and now I use it at the high school level. Of course, I have found that at school due to the way wireless works I am much better off to download at home and save to my computer. This eliminates all the technology problems.

  5. I must admit the only thing I have used GPB for is the discovery streaming aspect with the videos. I was not aware there was more we could do with GPB. I am going to talk to my media specialist to see if she could do an in-service on this tool because I know I am not the only one in my school who is unaware of the things we could with GPB.

  6. GPB is a great site and I use it often in my third grade classroom. The videos are a wonderful addition to many of the lessons I teach in the classroom. One thing that I love about GPB is that the material is aligned to the Georgia Performance Standards. We have to have the Georgia Performance Standards posted in our room and in our lesson plans for every lesson we teach each day so having a website that has the material aligned with the standards is definetly a plus!
